TOUGH TEST IN FOREST Elite orienteers will face a test as tough almost as they had to meet in the New Zealand championships last year when the Pupuke club holds the fortnightly NZOF competition and family day in the North Woodhill State Forest tomorrow. The races will be held in a heavily wooded area of pines, native forest and young plantations. A new multi-colour map will be used for the first time. In all, there will be nine courses to cover the 21 different age classes required by the International Orienteering Federation, as well as a novice, wayfarers and family short, simple course. Entrance to the area will be by way of Rimmers Rd, near Helensville, and starting times will be between 9.30 and 11.30am, with course closure at 3pm. |
